MEP Sophie in’t Veld of the Democrats 66 Party (Renew Europe Group) has been a vocal and passionate advocate for a variety of causes, including a more prominent role for the EU Parliament.
The European Union is at a crossroads: both the pandemic and the final closing of the Brexit ordeal marks the moment for a push towards renewal and advancement of the EU, taking on its role in the world as a geo-political force.
MEP in’t Veld has some ideas on improving the status quo in areas such as a better representation for citizens and having their voices heard, facing the many challenges in our relations with the US, Russia and China, and making sure our member states respect human rights and liberties within the Union.
