Grab a coffee or get those trainers on!
I absolutely love having Prof Scott Lucas from EA Worldview & Deep Dive Politics- World Unfiltered- on the pod.
What’s on for today?
Secretary of State Anthony Blinken gave a speech on the direction and objectives of US foreign policy, and Scott and I look to see how this could possibly play out on the ground.
Our discussion is divided into two parts. Part 1 Scott provides an overall mapping of the document at first and then looks at possible avenues of action in terms of Iran and the Middle East as opposed to US foreign policy in these areas in the past.
In Part 2, Scott and I discuss the same but with a view to Russia, in light of the recent sanctions levelled at Russian officials and entities, and what this all means. We also briefly discuss US-China relations, and what is possible or probable in the international context for the US. In the end, how could we not mention CPAC or TPAC.
Heartfelt thanks to Scott for taking time from his busy schedule to chat with us and Davide Cortese, CTP senior researcher for all his help on analysis for the pod.
To you all...my warm thanks for listening in every week,
Mo
Before you go…
Yes, it’s real…and it’s one place where you get back in touch with everything that’s beautiful and essential about life. My husband and I often visit our friends Malcolm & Daniela at their place- The Lazy Olive- near Asciano, right in the heart of the Tuscan countryside near Siena. Once we can start moving around, we can't wait to visit them and just enjoy their company & a great glass of wine and stay for a few days. Or you may be planning a family get together or celebration. They’ll take great care of you!
